UNICEF: A woman at the head of the organization dedicated to children

Henrietta H. Fore becomes UNICEF's 7th Executive Director on January 1, 2018. She succeeds Anthony Lake.

The first female Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance at the U.S. Department of State (from 2007 to 2009), Henrietta Fore was previously Deputy Administrator for Asia and Deputy Administrator for Private Enterprise (from 1989 to 1993). She has also served as Under Secretary of State for Management, Chief Operating Officer of the Department of State and 37th Director of the Mint at the Department of the Treasury.

Chairman of the Board and CEO of Holsman International, a production and investment company until December 31, 2017, Ms. Fore has also chaired or served on the boards of numerous non-profit and for-profit entities, focusing on development and working with the world's children.
