The Netherlands has made a global contribution of 6,400,000 Euros to the trade-related programs of the World Trade Organization (WTO) over the period 2018-2022. In this way, the Dutch government aims to help developing and least-developed countries (LDCs) participate in multilateral trade negotiations and improve their access to agricultural markets.

The contribution is divided into two parts. On the one hand, a sum (2,500,000 EUR) will be allocated to the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF), a global partnership aimed at helping developing countries comply with international food safety, zoo-sanitary and phytosanitary standards, and better integrate into international agricultural markets. A further EUR 4 million will go to the Netherlands' internship program to help developing countries improve their knowledge and understanding of trade policy issues.
